Perception is Reality. As RFID usage has grown across the globe, manufacturers have faced a constant barrage of criticism over security. Consumer advocacy groups, privacy interests, and suppliers of RFID blocking aftermarket devices all trumpeted the security pitfalls of broadcasting personal data into the ether. Never before have these threats been raised to such a high level of negative consumer public awareness.
